MEET THE PANEL:
John Suh, Former Vice President, Hyundai Motor Company and Founding Director, New Horizons Studio  LinkedIn
John has over 30 years of experience in automotive and emerging technology. John Suh is currently vice president and founder of Hyundai New Horizons Studio (“NHS”). NHS leading a team focused on in creating new vehicle platforms augmented by robotic technology. NHS seeks to advance Hyundai Motor Group’s vision of Progress for Humanity by developing solutions that allow anyone to travel safely anywhere.  NHS’ current focus is the development of ultimate mobility vehicles (UMV), which can travel over terrains challenging for conventional ground vehicles. UMVs can serve a broad range of applications including, but not limited to public safety, natural resource management, military applications, surveying, and space resource development.  John has held several leadership roles at Hyundai Motor Group. In 2011, he served as the founding director of Hyundai Ventures, which was HMG’s first corporate venture capital office outside of Korea. In 2017, John created Hyundai CRADLE (Center for Robotic-Augmented Design in Living Experiences) and established the Silicon Valley office. CRADLE combined corporate venture capital operations with open innovation programs in multiple areas of technology impacting HMG’s automotive businesses. He has also worked at the Palo Alto Research Center (now part of SRI) and General Motors Company.  John is a member of the Board of Directors for the Montana Chamber of Commerce and a member of Consumer Technology Association’s (CTA) Technology Council. John is also on the advisory council at Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s (LACMA) Art+Technology Lab. 

Joel Rosenberg, Managing Director, Iprova - North America  LinkedIn
Joel leads Iprova’s North America business development, where we use the inventive power of the world’s information to invent with unprecedented speed, disruption, and efficiency. As a 40-year Silicon Valley technology executive and entrepreneur, he is a business consultant, angel investor and mentor to start-up and growth stage companies. He has held senior IP licensing roles at ARM and Virage Logic (acquired by Synopsys) and several other leading Semiconductor companies. Joel founded IPbiz2biz in 2015 to help technology startups build and launch their companies and help foreign technology companies launch in the US.  He heads business development and strategy for VC Taskforce, an organization dedicated to promoting the interests of the Venture community. As an advisor to Silicon Catalyst, Joel works with semiconductor and other technology startups to build strategic partnerships and identify licensing opportunities.  Joel’s portfolio companies include AI, semiconductor, and other technology licensing enterprises.

Samir Raiyani, CEO, Dolcera  LinkedIn
As the Chief Executive Officer of Dolcera. Samir brings more than a decade of leadership in high-tech and knowledge service innovation. Prior to Dolcera, Samir was Director at SAP Research in Palo Alto, California. At SAP, he helped launch several new initiatives in the areas of metro wireless networks (WiFi-mesh/WiMax), RFID, sensor networking and mobile multimodality. He was instrumental in setting up partnerships with Intel, Motorola and several other companies. Samir was co-founder of MediSpark (iScribe), a mobile healthcare start-up that is now part of Caremark Inc. He designed and led the software development and architecture at iScribe. He has a Masters degree in Computer Science from Stanford University and an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication from Gujarat University.

Chuck Gershman, President and CEO, Co-Founder at Owl Autonomous Imaging  LinkedIn
Chuck brings over 30 years of technology and semiconductor industry experience in executive management, marketing, engineering, business development, sales, consulting, and executive advising. Including Owl Autonomous Imaging, he has served as CEO/COO and a Board Director for three companies, he knows what it takes to lead a vision to reality having led successful exits with acquisitions by Intel and PMC Sierra.  Previously as President & CEO of Bay Microsystems (now Vcinity), Chuck guided the company through two high-tech recessions and from a pre-revenue start-up to a thriving profitable industry leader with over $100M in aggregate sales.  He is a Drexel University College of Engineering inductee into the Alumni Circle of Distinction, the highest honor bestowed upon alumni. He has been honored as a finalist for CMP publications (EE Times) prestigious ACE award as High Technology Executive of the Year and was previously named a Top 40 Healthcare Transformer by Medical Marketing & Media for his work on Clinical AI Decision Support for cancer patients. Chuck holds four US patents for his contributions to Microprocessor Architecture.

Braden Weatherhead, Managing Director, KPMG IP Compliance  LinkedIn
Braden is a Managing Director and KPMG’s commercial line of business leader for contract compliance. He has over sixteen years of experience in providing royalty audit services to multinational organizations in a variety of industries including High Technology, Semiconductors, Consumer Products, Diagnostics, and Pharmaceuticals.  Braden has deep experience in helping to establish and execute global contract compliance programs combining elements of data analytics, royalty monitoring, audit targeting and remediation. He has led the development of cloud-based data aggregation, monitoring and executive dashboard tool to help better identify licensee compliance issues which range from erroneous reporting, low royalty payment and fraud. He has significant experience successfully managing relationships between potentially contentious third parties in an audit environment. Braden is also well versed in performing advanced data analytics and has developed analytical tools to implement proactive monitoring solutions leveraging third party data.  All together, these programs have resulted in the identification of over $300 million in overpaid rebates & discounts while strengthening contract lifecycle management and strategy.  Braden is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the AICPA.

Michael Pierantozzi, Moderator and Board Member, LES-SVC (IAM Strategy 300)  LinkedIn
Based in Silicon Valley, Michael is a technology and intellectual property (Tech/IP) entrepreneur, strategist and transaction expert. Andiamo Associates is a management consulting firm that specializes in Tech/IP business catalyzing and monetizing matters. Previously, Michael was responsible for strategic business development, including sales, acquisitions, and licensing for the IP Licensing group at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). Previously, Michael held executive leadership positions at Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) including HPE, Intellectual Ventures (IV), IPotential, and an IP transaction data services startup that he co-founded. Since 2009, Michael has been recognized by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) Magazine in their IAM 300 rankings as one of the “World’s Leading Intellectual Property Strategists”. He is a frequent speaker at Tech/IP industry events in the US, Europe, and Asia, and has delivered IP management seminars at Stanford University.
