Join us for this after work networking event featuring an informative, interactive discussion with Junaid Islam, a globally recognized Secure Communications and National Security expert and Senior Partner with consultancy OODA LLC, and Suzanne Harrison, renowned author, futurist and IP policy advisor, who is currently Chair of the Patent public Advisory Committee (PPAC) at the USPTO. Over the last year, Junaid has been providing assistance to Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation (MDT) to develop countermeasures to cyber and kinetic attacks. During this session, Junaid and Suzanne will share their experiences advising several government agencies and testifying before congress on IP issues including lessons learned, including the value of virtual infrastructure, post-conflict strategies and how world events, including potential showdowns with China, are affecting innovation exchange and high technology supply chains now and into the future.

Junaid Islam, Senior Partner, OODA
Junaid Islam is a senior partner at OODA and has 30 years of experience in secure communications. He founded Bivio Networks and Vidder, which was acquired by Verizon to provide Zero Trust for their 5G network. Junaid has supported many US national security missions from Operation Desert Shield to investigating state-sponsored cyberattacks. He has also led the development of many network protocols including Multi-Level Precedence and Preemption (MLPP), MPLS priority queuing, Mobile IPv6 for Network Centric Warfare and Software Defined Perimeter for Zero Trust. Recently Junaid developed the first interference-aware routing algorithm for NASA’s upcoming Lunar mission. He writes frequently on national security topics for OODAloop.com.

Suzanne Harrison, Founder, Percipience LLC; Chair, Patent Public Advisory Committee to the UPSTO
Suzanne is the Founder of Percipience LLC, a board-level advisory firm focused on managing and developing IP strategy, quantifying and mitigating IP risk, and increasing IP value capture. Suzanne is also the Chair of the Patent Public Advisory Committee to the USPTO. She was previously a Director with Inflexion Point Strategy, an IP investment bank providing IP transaction assistance, and was the CEO and Founder of Gathering2.0, the first online community to increase information transparency and efficiency in the patent transaction market. She is also the co-author of three published books, each of which takes an in-depth look at the concepts of intellectual asset management and highlights the winning strategies used by large companies to maximize the value of their IP.
