In every downturn, there are risks but also opportunities. We enter 2023 with much uncertainty. Companies are bracing for an economic downturn that may or may not happen. This could lead to budget cuts, IP portfolio pruning and an uptick in different types of litigation. Seasoned IP professionals are preparing for hidden risks, but hindsight tells us there are always hidden opportunities. Investments and fundraising are being redirected to different areas. Tech and Innovation are still booming, but in which areas? Where are we seeing an uptick in investment? Where are companies continuing to innovate and generate new IP when purse strings are tight?
