Presentation

PROGRAM:
What can we learn from 10 years of companies and NPEs patent buying and selling? Want to know what characteristics of patents cause them to increase in value? Who spends the most buying patents? What happens to those patents sold by Nokia, IBM, and Cypress Semiconductor? What is the price of a patent today and how has it changed? This is the 10th year that Kent Richardson and Erik Oliver, Richardson Oliver Law Group, have published their in-depth patent market analysis. Kent answers these questions and more.

Additionally, Kent will provide a quick introduction to the cross-industry open standard, SPIF, for easily and uniquely identifying patents. Now available on Google Patents, the SPIF standard simplifies one of the most tedious jobs in our field, clearly identifying patent assets from around the world.

PRESENTER:
Kent Richardson, Partner, Richardson Oliver Law Group
Kent counsels clients on a variety of patent and business matters, including patent buying, selling, licensing, valuation, prosecution, and operations. He provides data driven advice using his firm’s proprietary database of patent market information covering more than 230,000 patent assets. Kent has served as an expert witness on patent monetization and licensing practices in UK and US cases.
